Caricature and Cameo Project

Introduction

Within this assignment we were to use different adobe platforms in order to create a cameo of our selves as well as a caricature of our chosen partner. To be successful in this project we needed to learn how to collaborate using the different adobe applications to share and discuss our possible ideas. For both

Materials
Hardware- iPad, Mac
Software- Adobe Illustrator Draw, Adobe Illustrator
Platforms- Adobe Cloud, Behance
Cameo
Creative Process
For my cameo I was intrigued by the examples but I wanted to play around with Abode Draw first before I confirmed any stylistic decisions. My goal was to take inspiration from the previous student work and put my own spin on the portrait.
For the cameo, to begin we had to take an existing photo of ourself as reference for the portrait. I chose to take a quick photo of myself on my provided iPads we use in class. I felt most comfortable with choosing an unflattering angle, messy hair ect. because it represents me quite well.
Using Adobe Draw we then place that chosen image into project ready for tracing
I found the app very fun to use and immediately liked the look of creating a sketchy graphic
After playing around with this app I was able to come up with a drawing that I was happy with.
Caricature

Creative Process
When choosing a partner for the caricature aspect I decided to chose a friend since I would already know a bit about them I felt it would make the processes slightly easier. I began to research different caricatures and think of ideas that would work with my partners interests.
Partner - Dylan Khan
I decided to incorporate moons in someway based on his character he plays as on League
I tried to make the moon represent the hair of the character, the "memes" hanging by a rope represent his love for memes as well as his appreciation for DreamWorks
Conclusion
Overall, I found this project quite helpful for understanding the variety of adobe applications and how to collaborate and share ideas and documents with others. Even though I just read the update on the assignment that we did not have to go through with writing a blog on our process, it still turned out as a great way to practice my understanding of this platform for future use.
