While at TNF, I worked on the design of the original Access Pack. This rare special project was given 'carte blanche' to toss out the normal constraints of backpack construction and create something totally new. I began rethinking the typical pack components and interactions, such as opening systems, fasteners, adjustments, layout, etc. This exercise all culminated in an over-arching theme of improving the ease-of-use. Although the RDD of this project was fairly rigorous, the results were well worth it. The final product incorporates many innovative, patented features including the spring-opening main access, harness-integrated tension-adjusters, and device ejector-pockets. Influenced and driven by these innovations, the pack's aesthetic also reflects this departure from the industry standards.
