Client: Quarto Publishing
I was approached by Quarto Publishing to produce a series of three unique maps with accompanying step-by-step guides for a book titled 'The Art of Map Illustration'. Of course I jumped at the chance to have my work published alongside other great illustrators such as James Gulliver Hancock. I really enjoyed this project because I was at liberty to create three maps of my own choosing. I decided to base the maps on places I have visited on holiday, picking out interesting things I saw and did on my travels. I meticulously detailed my illustration process, which means there are lots of tips and tricks that should hopefully help other budding cartographers / illustrators create maps of their own.
