Surrounding Admiration

This series of prints is an exploration of architectural elements in Corpus Christi, Texas. I have an admiration for structures, typically drawn to historical architecture that is nowhere near South Texas. While vicariously admiring dynamically designed buildings through textbooks and webpages, I realized many structures in my immediate surroundings should be admired and showcased in a similar way to the architecture I was appreciating from afar. I present images that give the buildings a sense of importance and value. I chose the cyanotype photographic process to create these images because it alludes to blueprints, the foundation and backbone to any structure created.
