Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Wildlands UI works

Various User Interface works done for Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Wildlands.

In an open world, tactical game taking place in a military fantasy setting, clarity of information, and information hierarchy both had a crucial role. A lot of informations constantly needed to be given to the player, either about the state of the world the player is evolving into, the consequences of his/her actions, or about enemy camps and their composition (vehicles, lights, chests, point of interests, ...).
Here are various mockups, showing multiple iterations of the UX, and UI art direction. In the team, I worked on UI: art direction researches, mockups, various icons, and in-game animated integration, mainly for HUD and tacmaps elements, but also on some menus. I also did some work on the first iterations of the companion app, and on some FX textures.
On what we call the 'tactical map', the player can access various informations about activities in the game by hovering their icons on the map. Different locations, with different purposes (safe village, rebellion hideout, enemy camp, rally point, ...) needed to share a visual grammar while presenting pertinent informations, like enemy camps composition, and difficulty level. We also went through a lot of art direction iterations, to end with something very sharp and minimalist, very effective in the final version of the game.
I played around for a while with the cartel visual fantasy, and specifically tattoos. The idea was to integrate this rich visual cartel indicator in a clean UI.
When our final art direction was defined, we then worked on information display and hierarchy directly on the HUD.
This is a sneak peek of things I've done on the game - a lot more is visible in the final version of Ghost Recon: Wildlands!

I've also worked on non-UI stuff, like FX texture. This is the blood texture used, with a shader, for the hurt FX in the game:
