Dimpled and Bowing!
"Orphans and best friends Dimpled and Bowing embark on en epic journey to the mysterious desert town of Badmouth, where they will find themselves the unlikely leaders of the violent, technicolor revolution." I collaborated with two Los Angeles based writers to develop and create all the concept art for a pitch bible designed to present their visionary animated-series concept, Dimpled & Bowing!
A Brief Overview
Dimpled and Bowing! was a project 5 years in the making. After adapting the feature film concept into an animated series and going through numerous rewrites, the two co-creators knew exactly what the Dimpled & Bowing! world looked, sounded, and felt like. I remember the first meeting during which they gave me a brief overview of the story and its two brave protagonists - I adored the premise instantly and eagerly accepted the task of bringing it all to life.
Journey to Badmouth
The first part of the process consisted of sketching out a variety of ideas and rough drafts. I had received a lot of information about each character and location in the story, as well as visual references, so it was a matter of churning through concept after concept until we honed in on the most authentic representation of every element of the D&B universe. During the final coloring stages we witnessed as their vision slowly came to life. Raw imagination fused with artistic interpretation.
