I watched Westworld and Blade Runner again recently, and was struck by a tiny similarity between these two cool synthetic ladies.

The hosts in Westworld were supposed to be unable to hurt even a fly. But after her source was messed with, Dolores kills a fly on her neck. Dramatic end to the first episode.

When Deckard administers the voight-kampff test on Rachel, he asks her a series of questions to test her empathy.

“You’re watching television. Suddenly you realize there’s a wasp crawling on your arm.”

“I’d kill it.”
