It has been a great opportunity for me to show one of the biggest projects that I have been working with in the past 3 months. Since January, I've been working together with profiling and graphical crew of the Gathering 2018. The crew itself is called Event:Profile.

The event is one of the biggest LAN parties in the world, boasting 5000+ participants, several major sponsors and a whole lot of pizza.

Here are some of the products that I've worked on both before and during the event.
Event:Profile is made out of 9 members, but 5 of them are part of the core. I am part of that core. The other 4 are actually part of the video production team. They are comprised of animator, 3D artists and video editors. 
I've was tasked to create different kinds of graphic material that was meant for print or for digital use. Most of these tasks were presented through Jira, a task & project tracking software which is used by several parts of The Gathering crew. Through the software/website, i could assign myself or someone else within my crew to any product or project. Every week before TG18, my crew would hold meetings. The things discussed in these meetings can be all from collaborating to critique on work they've done.

Last January, we went to Oslo to start on a workshop that would determine the look and feel of the merchandise and profiling of the event. It was also by that time we would start conceptualizing the "Attention Grabber" of the event.

The Theme 
Social Reality

The theme was based off the popularity of social technology that we see nowadays. It was also based on the interactions between us and technology, through tech like VR or AR. We also had a lot of elements based off chatting software such as emoticons and speech bubbles. To learn more about the theme, visit the website for The Gathering.

The style of the graphical elements were meant to reflect on the social media and social tech. The color palette for this year's theme is resembles most of the colors that are used for social media platforms. The graphical elements also express references to media related to our reality changing and social media, just to name a few things. There was one addition to the graphical products was unique from my perspective was the addition of glyph's. These glyph's are a reference to the game Hyper Light Drifter. Work 
Both before and during the event

A large part of Event:Profile's work is done several months before the event. A lot of my work was done before the event, and mainly consisted of print materials. There are also some digital work that is needed to be done, especially for the website and the Attention Grabber. I created a lot of designs that were made for Creativia, the creative part of TG where there are contests and workshop for several kinds of disciplines.

In total, I have created around designs for 31 products, for both digital and print. Some are small jobs, while others are much larger.
 
What's next?

I liked working for the first time with a crew that i have a lot in common. I pretty much enjoyed my time with them, and I've learned a lot from them in those past few months. I really appreciated the whole crew's hospitality to one another and i'm fairly convinced that i'll join them again next year. I have left my mark, and hopefully it had some impact.
