Line & Curve Study

The outcomes of this project were to:
Develop harmony through curve and line consideration of line and space.
Utilize progression and repetition to create harmony capitalize on limitations given.
Engage in the discovery process.

The project was split into 3 separate studies.

Study 1:

Create a harmonious composition in a 2D space.
_using 3 curves or using 2 curves and 1 straight line
_at least one neutral (circular) curve and one increasing/decreasing curve. _curves must go from the top edge to the bottom edge of the square.
_Think about axis, line, and crest direction and how that can build harmony in the compositions (eg repetition in axis direction and progression in crest point)

Study 2:

Create a harmonious composition in a 2D space
_using as many curved lines/types of curves as you wish.
_use at least one variable width line.
_the curves must go from the top edge to the bottom edge of the square.
_think about space, edges, line width, repetition, progression, and directional messages.

Study 3:

Create a harmonious composition in a 2D space
_use any number of curves.
_ all lines must go from the top edge to the bottom edge of the square.
_use at least one straight line. The straight line must integrate with your curve lines.

Below are my initial sketches of the studies:

(I know they are a little hard to see but I wanted to show how you can see similarities in my finals from my first sketches).

Revised versions of the selected favorite of each study:
I chose an analogous harmony color pallet for my color studies.
