A pillow has some defined connotations – warmth, closeness and home. It is also an item associated with women’s duties – doing laundry, changing the linen, or – referring to Victorian era – embellishing everyday objects with embroidery.
In each composition the pillow plays a different role. It compliments the story of old, damaged objects, mended with kintsugi. Large, individual pillows, as big as regular ones, tell the stories of longing. Porcelain one has a song lyrics written on saying: how could you go without me. Pillow filled with braids is a commentary to the current position of women and also to my own femininity.
