Brand Identity: Earl's Watersports

Brand Identity for Earl's Watersports
As a Visual Designer where I spend a lot of time in front of my computer, I make it to a point to stay healthy & active consistently. I love to run, strength-train, and do just about anything to break a sweat.

A few days back, I found myself doing laps in our village clubhouse with a good friend, Earl. As how any early 20-something would go about when hanging out, we talked about our career paths and visions for the future. He was into this new hobby which he is very passionate about -- free diving. Passion bites me hardest when I see it, so the next day I found myself drafting logos and creating this brand identity for a dream business: A Watersports Company.
All of these, of course, are courtesy of Brandberry Design Company. Check us out!
Above you can see a closer look at the logo. I wanted it to be very simple, no-fuss, straight-forward so I thought, good typography is the way to go.

The blue waves pattern go so well with it in any print, brings in that complete active and outdoorsy-feel.
I also went for the extra mile and drafted a mockup of a brochure (see photo above) and a print ad (see photo below). I can imagine having these brochures at first sight, on the reception desk as you check in the resort. Also, picture yourself all excited for your first day of vacation, wearing your swim gear ready to hit the beach, and as you walk down to get a glimpse of the ocean, you passs by these print ads of Earl's that make you just want to do more water activities and even learn a new hobby.
Branding is, for me, one of the most important determinants to success when starting up a business. The way you would position your company in the minds of your traget market and different wave of audiences is a strategy worth discussing and working-on thoroughly.
