Project Brief:
Founded by a group of UCLA students in 1982, Outfest is the leading organization that promotes LGBTQ equality by sharing and promoting LGBTQ stories on screen. Outfest discusses and celebrates the stories of LGBTQ lives by connecting diverse communities and populations. The Outfest film festival has been a gathering of queer films and filmmakers for over 35 years. Year after year, Outfest protects the queer identity and promotes equality for all by supporting LGBTQ cinema and the LGBTQ community.

Culture has and continues to control sexuality. This project promotes and supports LGBTQ rights and equality. The logotype demonstrates the idea of projection. Both the projection of the voice and the projection of films. The typographic treatment creates momentum and energy within the identity; inspired by the strong movement of the LGBTQ community. The identity system relies heavily on typography because language is how we voice our beliefs, our attitude, and our rights.
