FILM TIMELINE
This is my studio project which showcases a timeline of science fiction film from the 1900s to the 2010s. The timeline includes prominent films as reference points, along with scientific discoveries pertaining to each decade, prominent sci-fi filmmakers, events that affected the depictions in the films ad how these films in-turn affected the times. The lines are colour coded based on the legend since the timelines showcase dominant themes, the context of the films, the representations in the films and the reception of these films amongst the audiences. There are also connectors within the timeline which show the viewers that they need to view the timeline accompaniment booklet to know more about how the themes have either remained the same or have changed through the years. The booklet also comprises of comparisons between eras and the complimentary and contrasting elements between the decades.
The essence of this project was to explore the context of my final year project, which was science fiction film, and to visually represent the research that I gathered for my final year thesis during my course at Lasalle College of the Arts, BA Design Communication.
