David Bowie Conceptual Shoe Design
Undergraduate project in Packaging and Environmental Design class
This is a conceptual shoe design for David Bowie which was inspired by the word anachronism. It shows how the iconic David Bowie was out of place in his time. The curvy and edgy aluminum conveys his eccentricity. I left the natural color of the aluminum as is and spray painted the rest of the shoe silver to give it a futuristic look and feel. The height of the shoe's heels also conveys his gender bending style; the left pair being higher than the right.
Process___________________
I began by researching the history of shoe design and David Bowie’s style throughout his iconic lifetime. I was inspired by his audaciousness to dress in bold, striking colors and androgynous style and to break society’s norms.
