Internship with Rescue One

Summer of 2017 I did an internship with a local dog rescue called Rescue One. I photographed, videoed, and cut together trailers for dogs needing homes. I also developed proficiency in Premiere Pro for video editing. I learned to use the program specifically for this internship as I had barely used it before. My job was to piece together numerous video clips and pictures to make a cohesive trailer highlighting the dogs traits what they need in an adopter.

The reason for the videos was to show off some of the dogs that had been with the rescue for a long time. They needed more publicity to get these dogs adopted and I was lucky enough to be able to help.

I put the information the rescue gave me,their personalities as I was able to see them when I met with the dogs and their fosters, and added any information the fosters wanted me to put in. I put upbeat music that matched their personalities and pieced together the video to match up with the beat.

My first video was of Bella. After the video was made she got adopted!
The next video I made was of Danny Boy. After his video was made a friend of my mothers saw it and ended up adopting him! I still get updates on him and he is loving life!
My last video was two dogs, which was a struggle getting them to be in the video together when I wanted and separate when I wanted. Sadly these two did not get adopted after the video was made and just recently had to separated from each other due to them not getting along anymore.
I also went to help out at many of the adoption events over the summer. Fosters bring their dogs to a certain animal friendly location, mostly pet stores, and people can come meet the dogs to spend time with them and learn more about them. It was great getting to meet all the fosters and other volunteers as well as help some amazing dogs find their forever homes.
