Woodcut Studio Project

木ら作られた ( Ki-De-Tsu-Ku-Ra-Reta )
A woodcut exhibition to raise awareness of traditional analog printing methods, specifically woodblock printing. The process of woodcut requires precision and takes practice. As modern graphic designers are presented with a lot of digital tools, these practices are easily forgotten or even taken for granted.

There is something beautiful about woodblock prints that digitally, one cannot recreate.
The indents, details found on the prints can only be understood if it was picked up and analysed through touch. This project aimed to spark interest in modern graphic designers to pick up the carving tool and have a try at it.
