Fino is a pine end table that I used to practice my joinery skills and to try out some new features, such as the bent lamination drawer handle and the tapered top.

It is lightweight but remarkably sturdy, due to the mortise and tenons that are strengthened with dovetail stretchers that connect most of this piece.
Exploration: The mood board for this project was inspired by minimalist and elegant features of several modern products.
Sketching: After the initial thumbnailing was used to explore the form, a scale drawing was used to figure out the dimensions.
Build: Mortise and tenons, a half blind dovetail, and lots of wood glue give Fino it's strength. The pine is finished with shellac which contrasts the painted drawer front nicely.
