This project brief required us to develop an unconventionally designed poster, for an unconventional event. My chosen unconventional event, The Poly Party, aimed to show a fun and cheeky side to polyamory and create a safe event for people to explore and express this, in the hopes of encouraging people to discuss the issue more openly and become more embracing. Being a topic that people often feel uncomfortable discussing in an open setting, I chose to be unconventional through the use of strong, sexually-derived imagery, bold colour, playfulness, and unconventional typographic treatment.
