A restaurant, club and event space, all under one roof – that’s Knokke Out in Luxembourg. After its successes in Knokke and Brussels, the Belgian concept is ready to cross the border. They found the perfect location in ‘Les Rives de Clausen’, a protected site. Knokke Out took care of the unique location and Creneau took care of the design and build. A new stylish star is added to the Luxembourgian night.
If you’ve ever been to a Knokke Out location, you’ll know that the establishments are characterized by an authentic and convivial atmosphere. The abundant use of wood contributes to a warm and friendly feel. Wood also prevails in the interior of the new Luxembourg location. Just take a look at the impressively high ceiling. Our lighting concept turns the ceiling into a true lighting sculpture. The original walls in natural stone enhance the authentic feel. We cleared them up and restored them to their original state as much as possible.
On the ground level a dance floor and a whopping ten-meter-long bar are found. The copper-clad back wall and lighting fixture with fair lights give it a unique look.
To complement the wood and natural stone we chose contrasting black steel, concrete, red copper and leather. The materials were picked for a special reason. They develop a beautiful patina, making them grow even more beautiful with age. Not unimportant in an environment where materials ‘suffer’ quite a bit.
Since Knokke Out Luxembourg is both a restaurant and a club, it was important to provide each function with enough space for sitting, dancing and standing up. We added an extra level by building a mezzanine. The level houses a kitchen, bar and 110 more seats – an ideal setting for the restaurant. The mezzanine creates the perfect window toward the majestic wooden ceiling. The custom-made balustrade with arched metal tubes elegantly frames the upward window.
