Mount Whitney Virtual Academy (MWVA) offers a high-quality, tuition-free public education to students in Fresno, Inyo, Kern, Mono, San Bernardino, and Tulare counties. Each students learning experience is individualized to help students accelerate their academic progress and meet their personalized learning goals. MWVAs exemplary high school courses utilize cutting-edge technology and provide accessibility to courses anytime, anywhere.

The logo was designed to resemble Mount Whitney. Each color and form represents the uniqueness of each student while the overlapping shapes and colors come together to represent the interaction of individuals to create the whole, (ie: their school community and Mount Whitney).
The final business system included various print elements (business cards, stationery, file folders, and enrollment packets) and utilizes the color and form of the MT WHITNEY icon as design elements throughout the system.
The MT WHITNEY website is modular in design to provide the school with the flexibility to adjust and combine the four feature modals to meet their current needs. The simple background and color set-up also allow for easy theme changes.
The final logo is designed to resemble Mount Whitney in California. Each color and form represents the uniqueness of each student while the overlapping shapes and colors come together to represent the interaction of individuals to create the whole, (ie: their school community and Mount Whitney).
The above variations are parts of the brand guide that show how the logo is to be used in various situations (ie: grayscale, footer, text only, etc.).
After some research and sketching, these logo and color explorations were presented to students and the client as possible final directions to pursue. As high school students and parents are the audience, their opinions weighed heavily on the final direction.
