To fly
Medallic Sculpture Studio NAA Sofia International Medal Project
2017
“I Have a Dream is the 12th edition of the traditional project of the Medallic Sculpture Studio at the National Academy of Art. It consists of seven sessions during the months of: February, March, April, May, October, November and December of 2017. It does not matter if you are a dreamer or not. This project invites you to make your dreams come true in a piece of art: a medal. Regular artists and dreamers can participate in the project. The choice of dreams (subjects) is free. All conventional and unconventional materials and techniques are allowed.” -from Fidem’s website

PROJECT BRIEF
The 5th theme of the ‘I have a Dream’ Project was ‘To Fly’ due October 2017. This medal is composed by a 3D printed brain, aluminium wire, cardboard, rope and polyester crystal resin. It was inspired by a hot-air balloon. Imagination makes us fly, intelligence takes us further on, a brain was the symbol I have found to represent all these ideas and ways to fly, our brain takes us beyond.
