Music Feast is a short story I wrote for our Animation class. It is about a spider, who in the brink of starvation finds a creative way to make catching food a little more “catchy”
A spider sits on his web, he looks malnourished as he holds his growling stomach.
"I'm Hungry"
He looks at his last meal wrapped in his silk.
"The last one was weeks ago"
He slumps, holding his hurting stomach and closes his eyes.
"My stomach hurts"
He opens his eyes, He sees something and his mouth waters.
"Foood!"
Coming his way is a distracted fly, busy listening to the music of its poop phone.
A giant tongue comes into the fly, catching it.
The frog chews the fly, with parts of it still hanging from its mouth.
The spider looks horrified and shocked, its meal stolen.
"My meal…"
He faints, and falls off his web.
He lands on the ground his soul leaving his body, losing consciousness.
As he was unconscious, he begins to hear a strange sound.
"What is that beautiful sound?"
He regains consciousness and opens his eyes,
And what he sees as the source of the sound was a leaf strumming part of his web.
He lays on the ground starry eyed, getting an idea from what he just saw.
"WOOOOOW IDEA!"
After a while, a fly is near a stage looking at a leaflet.
Printed on it was the spider looking like a rock star, and the words “Spider’s music fest, Today!”
At the stage the spider made, he begins playing his insect guitar with a band of other insects, that were in fact his past victims turned into puppets.
The flies rave to the music, applauding and talking about how great it is.
"Bro, what a catchy tune!"
The spider hears them, and an evil smile appears on his face.
"That’s not the only thing that’s catchy"
He stops controlling his puppets, and they fall on the stage.
He pulls a thread above the stage, setting-off his trap.
A hidden web appears on the ground where all the flies stand.
The flies scream as they struggle to get out of the spider’s web, but they can't.
The spider, with its wicked smile begins to approach its meal.
"Today I feast!"
