Step 1
We were to choose a talk from the selection given. I decided I wanted to gift my booklet to the YW in my ward, so I searched for a talk that would be directed to them. Sister Bonnie L. Oscarson's "Young Women in the Work" talk was a perfect selection. After selecting the talk I created a mind map to get an idea of which direction I wanted to go with the design. I decided that going with the Young Women values as a design would serve me best.

Step 2
Next I created some thumbnail sketches for the entire layout. I explored hierarchy, grid layout, paragraph alignment and other design elements. I took my top sketches and created some digital sketches for my peers to review. I refined my top digital sketches and created a few main pages for review.

Step 3
The covers were sketched out next, from thumbnails to digital. After playing around with color schemes and title placement I made some designs for peer review. I made changes based on recommendations from my peers and adjusted my booklet as needed. I created a final layout of the entire booklet for review.

Step 4
After making changes based on peer review I created my final layout for my booklet. When I had completed the touch ups I made a Photoshop Mock-up to showcase how my booklet would look.

Conclusion
I was able to effectively make a typographic design that showcased not only the message, but the overall feel that was intended for my target audience. With the use of design principles such as hierarchy, alignment, balance, and contrast, I was able to make the blockquotes stand out but not take away from the overall design. I feel my pages flow nicely from the front cover to the back cover.
