3D Robot Character Design - College Project
The design task was to create a 3D Robot Character and prepare it for animation. I wanted to create a robot that would be able to perform a dangerous job that would normally put a person at risk. I did some research and found that Logging, the process of cutting down trees, was one of the top dangerous jobs in the world. I designed a robot that could do the cutting, skidding and storing of timber. I found that the structure of a Centaur, a mythological creature of Greek legend with an upper body of a man and lower body of a horse, works best for the purpose of Logging instead of a bipedal figure. The Centaur's structure can support the skidding equipment and a bucket for storing timber.
