Electrified S2 | VanMoof | 2018
Created the new design concept of frame and assembly process of integrated electric system to reinterpret the VanMoof iconic design of horizontal top tube with lights and improve the integration of e-system successfully. The sales exceeded the past record that the worldwide online pre-order (started from Jun 2018) was sold 2,500 in 24 hours / 3,000 bikes in a week, and the amount is still going up.

VanMoof Electrified S2, launched on Jun 7th, 2018
Since VanMoof started business from 2009, the horizontal top tube integrated round front light & rear light has been the iconic design for all of bike series. To reconsider the function & integration of electric system, the new design concept of frame become a big challenge.
Integrated Matrix Display.
In 2016/17 model, the LED display was in a plastic casing embedded on the hydroforming top tube. For 2018, it is coming with a more crazier idea: a fully integrated led display. There're more than 150 CNC holes on the top tube, and each hole's diameter is smaller than 1.3mm. It's not only shown the necessary information for our commute riders, but also more possibility in the future.
Integrated electric kick lock into the rear dropout. How does it work?
To lock the bike, gently kick the Stealth Lock button near the left rear dropout. This automatically arms the alarm and powers down the bike’s other functions.
And unlocking the bike, when the rider's phone is connected to the bike, press the unlock icon in the app or hold the left handlebar button to unlock the bike. Rider will hear a sound that indicates the bike is unlocked. If rider's phone isn’t connected, a long press on the left handlebar button will switch modes to let you enter the backup unlock code.
