Nabat Organics Packaging

Nabat Organics is a Lebanese product that produces high quality types of grains that are sold in a bland, unattractive package, which is uniform in appearance to an extent that customers are not able to differentiate the products on the shelf.

Therefore, I decided to redesign this products’ packages to render them more eco-friendly, sustainable and visually appealing.

Structurally, I used cardboard bags with a zip seal to keep the products fresh instead of the plastic bags to reduce waste and increase sustainability awareness. The cardboard use of bags also mirrors the company’s mission of being organic and environmentally friendly.

As for the design, I decided to use photographic images of Lebanese rural people involved in the process of plantation and gathering to reflect the authenticity and high quality of the Lebanese product. The rural farmers are placed in the center of the design with the product in their hands to highlight its freshness against the Lebanese planting fields, which are in the background. I also used arabesque patterns in the middle ground to stress that the product is purely Lebanese and open its target market internationally as well as locally. Various colors were used to differentiate each product: orange for lentils, green for oats, and purple for wheat. As for the light blue color, I used it to unify the package and to reflect that Nabat Organics are healthy products since blue is a healing color and is associated with health. The package also includes a circular shaped window so that consumers can take a glimpse of the product inside and check its quality. As for the text I used both Arabic and English fonts to reinforce the idea that the products could be used both locally and internationally.

This new design is visually appealing and modern: therefore, it will attract the millennials and encourage them to buy organic products to improve their health.
