The  Wolves
Pen and Ink 8 ½” x 11”

The Wolves shows two wolves alone in the dead of winter. Only branches pop their heads out the snow and trees stand naked behind. There are no other signs of life besides the wolves. One wolf calls out, while the other stands poised. These two wolves represent the two sides of the wolf’s nature in the animal totem. One calls out to us, he is the inner call, the secret wanting of our soul, the shadow self. The other is poised and ready for action, the public self, we share with others, who battles with the world. We must in the quiet vacuum of winter integrate both aspects of ourselves.
