Poster Design + Project Extension for
Sofar Sounds Delhi-NCR
On the basis of what each of their musical styles represent in terms of interaction - I decided to go ahead and follow a simpler approach to this poster that incorporates ‘fluidity’ and ‘diversity’. At Sofar, we have always taken our community very seriously and thus it was even more essential for me to design something that resonates with the artists as well as the audience. This led me to associate each of their sounds with a color and a texture.
After ascertaining my approach, I looked at how paint on canvas looks especially when its runny and has a certain flow to it. This poster is an amalgamation of the musical identity of all the artists involved and how their music resonates with the crowd. Dwelling on the concept of sound being fluid in more than just one way gave me more room to play with the flow of textures and colors. Moving forward, I enclosed the entire composition I had inside a silhouette of a face of a neutral human being - it’s neither a man nor a woman. This depicts not only fluidity for the musician but also how creator of music can act as a trigger of multiple emotions and can make its listener feel various things.
