Letcha, a tea company, has opened a new branch in Munich. This tea house gives the Munich Coolidge corner a little taste of Japanese culture.  I was honored to be commissioned to design a set of furniture for the tea shop. Given Japan's rigorous tea culture, many locals are unable to understand it. So it is difficult for the tea house to attract customers, let alone customers who take the initiative to consume. I considered creating a cultural balance between getting local people to accept the product and reflecting their own cultural personality as the biggest challenge.
Inspiration

The design was inspired by kabazaiku, which stands for handicrafts and is synonymous with a very aesthetic nature in Japan. In fact, Kabazaiku is an artisanal company that makes beautiful, practical products out of cherry bark. The two most famous products are chatsubo and chazutsu, both names for containers that serve the storage of tea.

Function

Functional perspective:The most exciting innovation is the customer's freedom to create joyfully. Specific areas within the room not only provide a creative place, but also stimulate the imagination and vitality of customers. The sense of freedom in the tea space is becoming more and more important. This is where Co+ comes in. These ingenious little cylinder can be combined to create different pieces of furniture, be it storage containers, seating or a table – Co+ is Up for anything!
