BEYOND BORDERS is a project which aim is to achieve a better understanding of how design can play a role in people’s ability to recognize and reflect on their own perspective, as well as the perspectives of others.
There has never been a more connected world, weather through travel, trade, migration, education, or media. This truly global age has connected people and places in ways never imagined before, and created societies full of differences. Sometimes differences are misunderstood, and become generators of fears, ideas, and movements that bring about divisions and conflicts forcing certain minorities to hide in the shadows.
The brief includes developing a proposal for an environment that promotes people of diverse backgrounds and lifestyles, recognises differences, creates connections, and cultivates respect. The proposal should allow for continuing differences that do not lead to hostility and persecution.
