Reghina lived many cultural, social and historical changes. She was two times an immigrant and that has truly affected her artistic life:
When I was growing up at the time that the Soviet Union was divided I was observing the people and I could see their fears and their uncertainty, so I started to express through my paintings all the
emotions that I had seen and felt. I saw people hiding their emotions and their fear was like a big grey cloud surrounding all of us. This environment forced me to turn inward. Then I discoverd that I could transform all my thoughts into my art. The more i looked inward the more intricate my art became. I started painting birds and planets which symbolized freedom and movement , and through my paintings i want to give the same freedom to the people around me.

Τoday i have decide to walk in the fields. I took the path which has no path. I felt like a child full of curiosity. I lost the sense of time and was not ready to come back. I had no idea why i shouldn’t stay forever in the path of that child who got lost in the fields . A child who has found his own freedom and happiness, just enjoying the beauty of nature.

Art exhibition at Ursulines School
Ursulines School & Merchant Academy in Naxos, Cyclades Greece was established by monks of the Jesuit order in the 17th century, the Ursulines School is located inside the Chora’s Kastro (the Castle), close to the Catholic Cathedral. The School’s operation initiated originally in 1628, under the supervision of the Jesuit monks that arrived in Naxos due the extension of French diplomacy during the time. It was the order’s monastery that hosted the separate schools - for boys and girls respectively- and aimed at the proper education of the Catholic youth of Naxos. It is worth mentioning that the Ursulines established the first school for girls ever to exist in Greece, allowing women to have access to higher education. The School was run by Jesuits until 1782, and after they fled the island, it came under the administration of Lazarist monks -according to the decision of King Louis XVI- until 1891. It was then that the Salesian monks proceeded to the reorganization of the School and established the renowned Merchant Academy that quickly gained fame all over Greece for the quality of its studies; the celebrated Greek writer and philosopher Nikos Kazantzakis attended the Academy in 1897, while its operation lasted until 1927. Nowadays, the Ursulines School continues to provide Greek French-oriented education while the Academy’s building is as of 1985 property of the Greek State and functions as a cultural center. Most of time I paint in front of people. I am painting only through a complete observation toward human emotions, there is no “Ego” but only metaphors and meaningful hidden words, numbers and symbols. Art is colorful, meaningful and magical. And the point is to discover through the colors, shapes and figures what is your life’s journey about. I have often seen people smile and cry in the same few moments because art unlocks those feelings which are the essence of our unique humanity.
Someone whispered me: it is not the human that choosing the painting but is the painting that choosing the human.

Reghina’s education as a filmmaker in Berlin has helped her to understand that the meaning of Art can be expressed in different ways.
Happiness, sadness, love, metamorphosis, evolution and freedom are unique elements of human emotions … This is the beginning of the end, or it just a moment of essentiality. Coexistence of art and human being and an evolutionary existence of time and space.
