Mies van der Rohe Architecture Poster

This is a 4-week poster project where we were given name of a famous architecture randomly and were required to research and convey the architecture style of these architects in our poster. I was assigned Mies van der Rohe
Farnsworth House (Autumn View), 1945-1951, designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe in Plano, Illinois
Upon researching Mies van der Rohe's architecture style, I found out that Mies’ works are very modern, structured, and organized. I’m most drawn to his skyscrapers and his innovative use of glass in the building because the use of glass makes the buildings seem elegance yet the use of steel ensures the durability of the building.

I also came up with 15 words to describe his style to help me brainstorm ideas for my poster.

Adjectives: functional, geometric, mathematical, organized, influential
Verbs: Structure, grow, rise, move, sharpen
Nouns: elegance, luxury, minimalism, modern, symmetry

Initial Conceptualization
Experimentation with color
Thank you!
