Safe knife is a kitchen knife designed for the use of children or anyone who is not fully competent using an ordinary kitchen knife. The purpose of this design is to keep the users fingers away from the blade while still giving them complete control of the knife. The knife consists of two parts, the knife itself and the sheath. The Sheath has a safety lock so that it will not move when someone is transporting the knife through the kitchen and can be removed if required. 

How it works:

The sheath is attached to the blade through a pivot point. When the safety lock is set to the unlocked position, the sheath can move freely up and down on that pivot point.
