US Currency Redesign

The objective for this project was to provide a redesign of the American banknote, specifically bills 1 through 100. The final result is a proof set containing new designs for each bill, front and back. The project was meant to be an exploration of symbolism and signs involved in our currency, and how these symbols are representative of our culture and country.

Our country is enormous, and so are the variety of people, places, and things that inhabit it.  Considering this I decided to take a regional approach to my designs.  The back of each bill features landmarks, animals, and plants representative of the region, while the front features a famous person from the region or an event that occured there.

The color and design of each note is intended to be a modernization of our current banknotes while maintaining their important information, continuity, and national identity.
