ZoukOut 2012, the biggest festival this part of the world had a unique challenge. They needed to tell the world that they too care about the environment. So how do we bring that message across? We created a giant installation from upcycled materials. Working with local upcycler ARTSYFACT (which I also own and manage), we engaged designers to fabricate a giant aquarium that is made entirely of recycled materials from Zouk, the club itself. Bottles become fishes, cans and disco balls become sea creatures. All housing a salvaged sampan and the words ZoukOut within the aquarium. The end result - hundred of thousands of views and shares from the photo op area created. Zouk saves money on materials - we reminded the party people that the environment is cared for too.
