"Ironclad" Apple Watch
S 0-3 / 38 mm
The 42 mm Ironclad cover garnered enough attention that people asked for a 38 mm version. Here it is in bronze.
42 and 38 Ironclad's together.
It is slightly different from the 42 mm though still inspired by the US Civil War steamship USS Monitor. The corner rivets stand out more and the watch face edge has a slight shelf with some raised extrusions.
This is the result.
I chose to make it in bronze because it’s an “old timey” metal and because from working with it in the past, I knew I could put a nice patina on it later using Liver of Sulphur.
I also thought that the color and overall design of the case would look really nice paired with a leather band that one might have been able to procure back in the 1860’s.
