No quiero princesas, quiero piratas
SCREEN PRINT

Literally I don't want princesses, I want pirates. Not a sexist message, but only the need for me to find strong, independent and adventurous people in my everyday life.
Pirate for me mean to be curious about what surround us, to face changes with a good attitude, to discover what life give you, and to recognize both the good and bad part we all are made of.
The two figures could symbolize me and the others people, facing or kissing or just staring at, representing all types of connection with people; but they could also be two inner sides of everyone of us, the good and the bad, the one we let see and the one we hide.
The image has been made in five steps. First four were created with plastic adhesive stencil cut by hand, a variant of the more common use of the emulsion; this method is less messy but can lead to a misplacement of some element, due to the quite elastic material.
The message is the last part that was printed, made with a two-phases process to create its screen.
I'm so happy to have achieved many different textures, playing with colors, mixing it and using different papers. Each marbled texture is one of a kind, such as the gradients.
The three lines at both sides are my usual make up, like a distintive sign.
This symbol is my sign, it reminds of the initials of my name and it's made of two opposite, moon and sun, night and day.
Each piece is unique, as we are. Every thing we face changes us.
