Headlock - an interlocking, CNC routed stool

The goal of this project was to design a sitting stool to be CNC cut out of plywood. The stool had to support the weight of our professor without using any nails, screws or glue. This meant that we had to explore different types of joints in our design process and refine the joint tolerance in our CAD model to produce the perfect fit.
The final stool came out to be 12 pieces, which ended up fitting in very well with the rule of thirds proportion system I was designing around. Everything fit together well, which was a huge relief, as we only had one shot at the full scale cut.
For other deliverables, we had to create an instruction booklet. Included inside was step-by-step instructions, an exploded view digital drawing of the stool, and a fully dimensioned orthographic drawing.
