Xanadu is a container “garden” boutique hotel located in the suburb of Kuala Lumpur City Centre. The name is originated from the plant “Philodendron Xanadu” and is an etymology of an idealized place of great or idyllic magnificence and beauty. In the future, people will have an even busier and hectic lifestyle living in the face paced city concrete jungle. Today's generation of children grow up indoors. Their plugged-in lives are largely devoid of exploring the natural world making them being disconnected to the nature. Xanadu recognizes the importance of making a real investment in environmental education in a garden hotel setting using recycled containers. Container architecture is the most environmental friendly method to enhance sustainability in this project. Targeted for family and couples, this hotel provides a conducive green living environment in a garden setting and great opportunity for interactions between people connected with a unique spiral ramp structure giving access to different rooms and facilities.
