This is speaker project which I did as final exam of HND1 at City of Glasgow college.
Speaker was meant to be designed for audio company LINN and be inspired by music of Scottish singer which in my case was Annie Lennox. And last but not least speaker had to be made from wood, composite material and concrete.
It should always start with primary research. Market, function and materials were a good start.
If I was to name one thing I learned while studying product design than it would be that there isn't only one solution for the problem and there is always space for development.
Prototyping was was major part of this project as LINN isn't about fashion or making statement about our society but their goal is superior sound quality.
I tried to showcase my speaker on three presentation boards first one showing what inspired style the speaker, second one showcased the speaker itself and its performance and during the last one I explained my choice of materials and how does it all work together.
I was quite happy with this project as it was even selected to be one of the few speakers showcased at the end of the year show.
