CARBON is an exploration of the boot making and the shoe design process. Throughout the project I worked back and forth between sketching and prototyping, I often used the prototypes as an alternative method of sketching and getting my idea across. I was avidly working in no particular order and challenging the current design process and tried to figure how it could be changed to benefit the project.
Taking heavy inspiration from the utility found in fishermen's PVC gear as well as that of space suits, CARBON features a timeless duck-boot silhouette known for durability and utility. Rich in sci-fi influences and featuring an outlandish pattern and cut in the side of the boot, it flares out completely changing the silhouette of the leg when worn on feet.
Photos were taken by noelia jerez and were ideal in showcasing the sci-fi silhouette as well as allowing for some really conveying visuals.
