Year 3 - Singleplayer Horror Campaign

In the first block of my third year I had to create a singleplayer horror level/demo with another student. Because of differences in communication and creative direction, I decided redo the project on my own during the second block.

The level needed to have some requirements, like interactive setpieces, a patrol character, dangers and a puzzle of some sort. With these requirements I decided to go for a Jack the Ripper theme. At the top of the page you can see the trailer, part of the assignment, using the music of Mark Zimmer
I created this level using UDK, allowing me to create simple and engaging interactive elements through Kismet. All the models and sounds are came with the UDK package, or were obtained from the internet to be used freely.
I tried to keep the Kismet Sequences as organized as possible, and managed to do that to a great extent, but ot still looked somewhat overwhelming at times
Finally, below you can see a walkthrough I quickly threw together for my teacher, using the free version of Fraps. In the end, I'm pretty happy with the end result, and I can honestly say that I learned a lot about creating a horror experience and applied it well. In the future, I will probably create a polished version of the level
If you are interested and want to try the level for yourself, you can download it here.
Be sure to read the README file first
