About the Ad?
It is a public awareness ad on the topic smoking kills. The Ad revolves around a person who walks into the frame smoking. As he gets to the centre of the frame, he stops to breathe properly. The camera goes around him and reaches his elbow. His arm symbolises cigarette, starts to disintegrate and only his hand is remaining which symbolises the bud of the cigarette. The hand makes hand gestures saying quit smoking. The ad ends with the line Throat cancer can leave you speechless. Quit smoking.
Why this Ad?
Smoking is known to kill around 6 million people around the world every year, as stated by the World Health Organisation on their official website. Smokers need to realise this startling fact and care for themselves, their family and society.
Anti-cigarette advertisements weren’t really given credit in the past, as no one really believed few emotional TV graphics could make a difference.
Things are changing in recent years, and aggressive anti-smoking ads and campaigns are promoted by various Governments and NGOs around the world.
This Ad will to raise awareness about this issue and to show my or a non-smokers perspective on this topic.
