Created with acrylic and gouache on 24x24 watercolor paper, the inspiration for this playful piece came from my experience portraying the sun in an elementary school play.

I started by creating several rough thumbnails, experimenting with different ways to depict myself as a 7-year-old, spectacled Sun. I played with different layouts, styles, and imagery before settling on the concept that featured other child-planets orbiting chaotically and floating off of the page (back when Pluto was still a planet!).
