The SSD chair is TIPTOE’s first chair since our creation in 2015. It is the result of two years of hard work and passion from our offices in Paris in the creative and buoyant district of Strasbourg Saint Denis. The SSD chair is not like any other chair:

• SSD is SIMPLE. It assembles in less than 2 minutes with only 1 screw and is composed of 5 easily replaceable parts.

• SSD is STRONG. It is 100% made in Europe in partnership with highly-skilled manufacturers including the family-factory founded in 1947 by Matthieu Bourgeaux’s grand-father and located in Chamonix near the French Alps. We worked together with engineers specialized in aerospace to ensure SSD’s strength after decades of intensive use.
• SSD is DURABLE. It is made with long-lasting and sustainable materials: steel is the most recycled material on earth, our wood only comes from sustainably-managed European forrests (PEFC-certified) and SSD contains only 1% of plastic (which is recycled).

SSD ships in a flat pack composed of 80% recycled paper. Once packed, it takes at least 3 times less space than most chairs, leading to reduced CO2 emissions during storage and shipping. Following decades of use, SSD will be easy to dismantle and easy to recycle thanks to its very few parts and the simplicity of the assembly process.
