Title: Trapped
This photograph is meant to communicate the constraint and distortion of one being isolated and trapped. I chose to take a close up photograph as I felt it creates a new perspective to the way the photograph is captured and it also gives a tactile connection with the model I am capturing. Additionally, blue colour gel were used to enhance the photograph and to add a subtle creative touch to the photograph.
Title: Mirror, mirror
I chose to use a mirror as a prop as it adds another dimension into the photograph.
In the context of Surrealism, mirrors become another visual cue to challenge the viewer’s perception of truth. I want the audience to be intrigued and to question themselves on what they are seeing when they are looking at this photograph.
Title: Reflection
This photograph is an exploration into identity. The broken mirror was used as a tool for self-reflection. The mirror became a tangible reflection of what the person is going through. The cracks symbolises a tension between strength and vulnerability.
Title: THE EYE
With photography, I am intrigued with the endless posibilites I can experiment with how I can change how a human could look strange or different to what we would usually see. For this photograph, the model had a glass of water over her eye that gave the illusion of her eye looking distorted and unusual. This gives the photo an abstract and distorted tone.
