SCIENCE OASIS FUTURE OF TECHNOLOGY FILM
Technology has the power to transform our world in profound ways from the nanoscopic to the planetary level. If anything the boundaries of what is possible are not limited by technology, more by our imaginations and collective will.
We recently had the privilege of creating an exciting film for Oasis Technology Centre’s new permanent public exhibition situated in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The centre features three main exhibition rooms with interactive and immersive audio visual presentations.

THE FILM
We created a thrilling and stylised animated film using an unusual canvas, a 4m square holographic projection Cube.
This film gives the visitors a glimpse at what the future of technology might hold.
We played with scale and storytelling, imagining some of the amazing technological developments from the minute to the planetary level.

VISUAL DEVELOPMENT
Future of Technology room is divided into four sections:
Nanotechnology, Energy, Medicine & Ageing, Transport & communications

At a very early stage, we knew that most of the technologies we’re showcasing are still in development and so the challenge was to design our own interpretation of nanobots, hoverboard and space solar technology based on any research and existing articles that we found.
We decided to give the film a stylised look in order to connect more with the younger target audience and get them excited about science and technology.
THE CUBE & UI INTEGRATION
One of the most challenging but fun parts of the process was having to work with a square projection cube as our main canvas. To make the most out of it we treated the facets as two wide screens where the front facets hold the 3D film and the UI elements are projected onto the rear facets. This created more depth and resulted in an exciting 3D hologram look.
