Rollex is a manufacturer of steel siding and roofing accessories for home exteriors. In an effort to showcase the benefits of Rollex siding we were requested to create an infographic showing the differences between steel siding and more traditional wood, vinyl and fiber cement siding.
We created an isometric rendering of a typical American home. We used it to create negative space amongst the trees for some contrast as well as to "funnel" the viewer into the content.
We created spot illustrations for each category, the design changed somewhat and some of the elements in the scene were incorporated as spot illustrations - the result was that the scene started blending into the main layout. (see the Painting & Staining and Maintenance categories)
Before doing the isometric home we created a top view (or floor plan) and a front elevation of the home to assist in getting the depths right as well as help with the slanted roofing. We didn't do a side elevation as we had to see how the trees in the scene would affect the isometric view - the side of the house was just created by adding more windows on the side and repeating the base brickwork around the edge.
