Challenge
Drop by Fineprint any time of the day and you’ll find the space packed with their regulars. As a truly Australian espresso bar, Fineprint not only makes great coffee but also focuses on putting the personal touch in their service. Beyond that, it is a space designed for any time of the day: starting with a morning buzz from their speciality coffee and ending with a glass of wine by their candle-lit bar at night. Fineprint was expanding to their second location, which would include a new selection of freshly-baked bread as well as a new cocktail menu from award-winning James Barker. To mark the launch of their second store and extended opening hours, new takeaway coffee bags and menu design to incorporate their day time and night time service was custom designed.

Solution
Fineprint’s beans are sourced and small-batch roasted in house, a testament to their commitment to quality. Drawing on that, kith&kin developed a set of bags that are authentically Fineprint - characterised by the black and brass combination which can be found in their cafes. The bags are kept minimal, true to the original brand, while the add-on sleeves are all under a unified treatment designed to consolidate different information for each roast. For the new evening and cocktail menu, kith&kin used a blind debossed full leather cover to reflect the new mixologist, James Barker, coming on board. We refreshed the typographic hierarchy to improve the legibility of the menu text.

Impact
The launch of the new coffee beans gave Fineprint a new revenue stream allowing them to have more control over the quality of their beans as well as offering a wider variety of single-origin beans. Fineprint is home to many loyal regulars and with the new coffee beans available, they can enjoy the same quality coffee in the comfort of their own homes. The new evening food service makes Fineprint the perfect place to stop for a snack and drink at any time of the day.
