During our Material Exploration Module, I experimented to create an automata toy with a Boat riding the waves. It was a fun process exploring materials of wood, acrylic and fabric and using them together in one product. 

Materials used:

Wood with fabric piece for making of boat.

Acrylic Sheets for waves.

MDF (Medium Density Fibreboard) for cam mechanism and box.
